Anno 1404 is an older 32-bit application. It has memory limits. While ArtMoney is stable, randomly changing memory values can lead to crashes, corrupted saves, or glitched AI opponents (suddenly the Sultan has 99 million gold, too).
This is your first or second playthrough. Go bankrupt. Lose the city. Restart. The pain is the point, and the victory is sweeter when you finally see those warehouses full of leather jerkins.
If you’ve spent any time in the beautifully detailed world of Anno 1404: Venice or the original Dawn of Discovery , you know the struggle. You start with a noble goal: build a bustling metropolis. But somewhere between the third Occident cider farm and the fifth Oriental mosque, your balance sheet goes red. Gold is bleeding, your citizens are grumbling, and Lord Richard Northburgh is giving you that look.
