Lord Kael had seen madness before—on the battlefields of the Third Crusade, in the plague pits outside Acre. But nothing prepared him for Extreme .

His mangonel fired not at the enemy, but at the cliffs above the Caliph’s camp. The first shot cracked the limestone. The second sent a thousand tons of rock sliding down—crushing the Caliph’s barracks, armory, and well in one avalanche.

A narrow, winding river canyon flanked by two massive stone cliffs. In the center, a ruined Byzantine fortress—the “Jaw.” The player starts on a small floodplain at the south end. “Now,” Kael whispered.

“They’ll attack together,” whispered his captain, Elara. “Extreme rules. No truces. No mercy.”

The Snake struck first—not with swords, but with assassins crawling up the riverbed at double speed. Kael’s archers loosed fire arrows into the water, turning the shallows to steam. The map was called the Serpent’s Jaw. On parchment, it looked like a trap: a single river snaking through a granite throat, with only three flat patches of land fit for a keep. Kael’s garrison—forty archers, a dozen spearmen, and one mangonel—huddled on the southern spit, watching the mist rise from the eastern cliffs.
