This paper analyzes the fifth episode of the Amazon Prime animated series Sausage Party: Foodtopia , accessed via BRRip for high-frame-rate visual analysis. Building on the film’s critique of religious delusion and consumer cannibalism, S01E05 (“The Great Defrostening”) pivots from slapstick orgy humor to a disturbing meditation on food ontology. We argue that the episode subverts the series’ own premise by introducing a faction of frozen foods who claim that “consciousness” is a refrigeration-induced hallucination.
