If the premiere of Snowpiercer laid the tracks, Episode 2 (“Prepare to Brace”) throws the throttle wide open. We’ve established the frozen hellscape outside and the rigid class war inside. Now, the show does what any good sci-fi thriller should: it forces its characters into a pressure cooker and turns up the heat.

And in the final minute, Melanie watches a hidden surveillance feed and whispers to an unseen figure: “He’s ours now.” Yes. Where Episode 1 struggled with exposition, Episode 2 finds its rhythm.
