Tere Ishq Mein -

In his Kafi , Bulleh Shah sings: "Tere ishq nachaya, kar thaiya thaiya..." (Your love has made me dance, spinning wildly...) Here, "Tere Ishq Mein" results in a loss of social composure. The lover becomes the "madman" ( majnu ) on the street. This dancing is not joy but the involuntary movement of a puppet whose strings are pulled by the divine. The paper notes that destruction of izzat (honor/reputation) is a prerequisite for entry into this state. 4.
