H255 - You S04
A long silence. The guard shifts.
She doesn’t move.
JOE: “Because you’re the only one who saw me. Not the killer. Not the romantic. Just… the man who collects first editions and can’t stop putting people in boxes. You’re the librarian, Marienne. You know how to close a book.” you s04 h255
JOE: “I’m going to write an ending. For real this time. No stalking. No murder. Just… words on a page. And then I’m going to hand this journal to the detective outside. Page 255 is the confession. All of it. From Beck to Love to Rhys.”
She inserts the key. Turns it.
The room is sterile. White walls, a single metal table bolted to the floor, a flickering fluorescent light. It smells of bleach and regret.
MARIENNE: “You’ll go to prison for life.” A long silence
JOE: “It’s yours. The cage is still there. The new one. Deeper. It has a door now—one that locks from the outside . You put the key in, turn it, and walk away. No one goes in. No one ever has to be trapped again.”
