Parallel to Sheldon’s awakening, Missy’s day unravels. She’s caught passing a note in class—except the note isn’t gossip. It’s a list of reasons she hates school, written in poetry form. The teacher reads it aloud. The class laughs. Missy doesn’t cry. She just goes cold.

Sheldon stares. For the first time, he doesn’t correct someone. His internal monologue (voiceover): “My pulse increased 22 beats per minute. My palms became moist. I initially diagnosed a mild cardiac event. Then she smiled. I recalculated.”

Missy: “Unless you need help hiding a body, I’m busy.”
